The All-Ukrainian Scout Camp of the Salvation Army’s Ukraine Division 2026, held in late June, was a special event that brought together younger and older scouts from various cities across Ukraine. Two sessions, dozens of adventures, hundreds of smiles, and one big scout family — all of this left behind warm memories, new skills, and inspiration to keep moving forward.
For many participants, these two weeks became a genuine journey toward independence, courage, and team support. The camp took place in the village of Sokilets, Vinnytsia region, where the children learned to live among nature, navigate terrain, work together, overcome difficulties, and take responsibility for themselves and others.
The camp program was packed and varied. Participants took part in games, hikes, nighttime adventures, training sessions, and evening gatherings around the campfire. They gained practical skills, learned to survive in natural conditions, support one another, and act as a single team.
For some, this was their first trip to a camp like this; for others, it was already a familiar format of scout life. But regardless of experience, everyone returned home with new impressions, friends, knowledge, and a desire to keep developing within the scout movement.
This year, the scouts from the city of Vinnytsia won, earning the honor of becoming the best patrol. This significant achievement was the result of perseverance, unity, responsibility, and a sincere desire to grow.
The younger scouts also received commemorative badges marking their participation in the camp — “Winner of the 2026 Camp Adventures.” For the organizers, every child is a winner, since each participant took their own step toward confidence, openness, and service to others.
Older scouts who passed exams and went through selection had the opportunity to join the Salvation Army Ukraine camp. For them, it was a time of special challenges, learning, and personal growth. They not only tested their knowledge and skills, but also learned to be an example for the younger ones, support the team, and act responsibly in various situations.
The camp taught the children to discover courage within themselves, thanks to the support of leaders who poured their hearts into every participant, with the whole team serving with love. In prayers, conversations, trials, and victories, God’s presence and support could be felt.
The participants returned home a little tired, but much stronger. They brought back with them not only backpacks and memories, but also new skills, new friends, and an even greater desire to live by scout values — to be honest, faithful, brave, and ready to serve others, and to protect nature. Because nature is not a resource — it is humanity’s home, where one can breathe clean air.
The final night game, the campfire, and heartfelt conversations became a beautiful conclusion to the camp journey. And the very next day, participants faced packing up and returning home. Time flew by quickly, but ahead lie new heights, new achievements, and new challenges.
The camp happened thanks to every participant, every leader, every patrol. May the Lord bless the scouts on their continued path, help them grow, serve people, and make this world better.
